Alice Fisher Blood:

About the Artist...

After dabbling in various art forms and interests all her life – from New England and Virginia to Colorado and Montana – and raising her four children, Alice Fisher Blood returned to her studies to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in oil painting and printmaking at the University of Montana in 1999.

Her concentration follows life interests in the natural world, landscapes and figures through her style of Impressionistic Realism.    During experiences of studying in Paris, living in Mexico, and traveling in New Zealand and Australia, Alice has always reflected her continuing love of the outdoors, animals and athletics.  Her works are found in collections from New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Florida to Texas, Montana, Oregon, Washington and California.  She is represented at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Rental Gallery and her commissioned work hangs in the office of the president of Pacific Power in Portland, Oregon.

Influenced by such painters as Monet, Edgar Payne and Wolf Kahn, Fisher Blood paints a broad, impasto stroke of the things she knows best.  Her images represent her eye for simplicity and scope of color, and though they most often portray scenes of nature and everyday life, she occasionally experiments in the abstract.

Alice Fisher Blood spends the majority of the year with family in Portland, Oregon and her summers on Flathead Lake in Montana.  She has had several exhibits of her paintings in downtown Portland since 2004.
